Small Adjustments

Once again to steal from Mike TPE, Chapter 8, he quotes something that really sums up most small business owners attitudes, most people in general actually .

“Often people attempt to live their lives backwards: they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want, so they will be happier.”

It’s so sad when you really think about being in that place. Maybe you’re in that place now. It sucks and I know it’s rotten because I just climbed out of that mess. (If you don’t get it or you’re confused just stop reading this because you can’t handle the truth! )This train of thought only leads to a discouraged and defeated human being. Destined to be unhappy until they receive their wake up call. Pick up the phone.

The only thing that is going to make anyone happy is their true passion. Everybody has one. But it’s also different for everyone. I have grand aspirations and lofty (but achievable) goals. My husband on the other hand does not.
What my husband taught me was that a true passion doesn’t have to be grand. It can be as simple as being a good father and making your wife happy. You wouldn’t think that would be a bad thing. Unless for some reason your want for more things, more money in order to do more of what you want cloud your head.
because happiness is different for everyone. Once I accepted my husband’s gift of WANTING to be a good father and husband was good enough for me. Just saying that makes me want to vomit but that’s literally what happened. I had to realize that I must let him be happy his way. As long as I tell him what I need he will try his best to do it well. That’s what makes him happy and it’s okay that my passion isn’t his passion. It works.

Let this anonymous quote stir you. See what kinda dust kicks up.

When plans start to take shape you will get the courage to keep following your true passion. Really take steps forward. even baby ones! Live by the motto “Today is the Day! Make it Happen!” And trust me when I tell you, the moment the Ruebix cube of your life snaps together it won’t be a surprise.

Always,
Heather
